Their corporate charter states these goals: To preserve the traditional spirit and art form of Bluegrass music; To offer a management service for any community desiring to hold a Bluegrass festival; To organize and conduct Bluegrass Band competitions; In all SPBGMA sponsored events instruments are to be traditional acoustic instruments, no electric instruments permitted; To encourage professionalism in appearance and showmanship by the performers at SPBGMA events and To encourage the support of various Bluegrass publications and associations.


European Bluegrass Music Association www.europe-bma.org

The EBMA was formed in 2001. They produce a magazine call "Bluegrass Europe." Each May they host a festival in the Netherlands, featuring top European bands and guest bands from the United States.

Programming begins with the "Bluegrass Overnight" at midnight Saturday until 6:00am Sunday. Then tune in with Mr. Red Shipley from 6:00am until 10:00am, who has been hosting the internationally known "Stained Glass Bluegrass" since 1984. After Red's show, enjoy the best in Bluegrass from 10:00am until 1:00pm with Mr. Ray Davis with the "The Ray Davis Show."
